It’s impossible to believe we are more than half way through the 366 days of this year.
My apologies for skipping June – no excuses, but various reasons! One good reason is that my sister Natasha has been here for a visit, and we travelled to the Cape to visit our family. It was a short but great visit – and especially meaningful for us both.
Now to July – it is a month of energy. The crystal for July is known to be a Ruby, (http://www.mysticfamiliar.com/library/crystals/ruby.html) the Tarot Card is Strength, and the Full Moon will grace Earth on 19th. Interestingly, the New Moon is on the 4th, at 08h01 and the Full Moon is at 19h56 – so around Eight O’clock seems important this month. For me, being in the Southern Hemisphere, July falls in the middle of Winter. I love the Winter, (though I do miss central heating!) it always takes me to the woodlands in Norwich and the magical times spent running through the woods. The pinker my cheeks and the number the tip of my nose was, the better. Good times. I remember searching, sometimes desperately, for the Faraway Tree. Now, of course, I realise it must be in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts.
July brings Nelson Mandela day (18th) an I pray with the unrest here in South Africa that we remember there is always a better solution than using violence and destruction to make a point. I cannot fathom why, if protesting at a lack of schools, destroying the ones that are available is a solution? All that action achieves is that no-one will have access to an education. How can that possibly assist in bringing about the changes we as South African’s are so in desperate need of? If we took a step back, just one, and really looked at each situation, each problem, and thought carefully and practically about a solution, we could avoid all this unnecessary violence, destruction and malice. It is so sad that we have come so far, yet are years and years behind.
I really feel “we” as Beings of this Planet and other realms must continue to do as much Light work as possible – prayers come in all shapes and sizes – and each positive one said, or cast, or thought or written contributes to the Light this World so desperately needs. Let us continue to do our work and create the World we want to live in. Ghandi said it; “Be the Change you wish to see in the World”. It is not the big steps, big moments or big actions that last- it’s the small, continuous ones that do.
