Red Fire Monkey & a Chinese New Year

Mummy went in the swimming pool, and tried very hard to get me and Willow to swim. We didn’t, which seemed to irritate her very much. I don’t know why, I mean, she’s not exactly a mermaid now is she? And WHAT is that splashing around and making our drinking water disappear? I know some of us four footed children enjoy water, and I love the River, but a huge great big swimming pool? Not there yet. Willow is still too frightened, and I am just not sure it’s a good idea. I mean to say, who knows what humans do in those big water bowls. Yuk.

This month of February seems to create a lot of excitement all around. There is something called a Chinese New Year, which involves Red Fire Monkey. I’ve only heard of a cheeky monkey. It’s all too confusing. Why can’t Humans just make things simple. AND, oh, what is a New Year anyway? Then we have something called a Leap Year. I think that’s a Doggy New Year. Willow says I’m wrong. According to Wikipeedhere, the pet version of Wikipedia, a Leap Year is also special because girls get to propose to boys. (Now, as I do not know what “propose” means, I can only assume I am doomed) I shall also have to delve into our trust fund and buy Mummy a decent birthday present. The dead mouse did not go down well at Christmas.

Mummy is very excited about the Chinese New Year, and has been making very silly comments about the Leap Year. In the space of 29 days we shall have a Red Fire Monkey welcoming the Chinese New Year, Mummy’s Birthday and a Leap Year.  A very busy time indeed.

We are also going to be getting more interesting goodies for our Doggy Bags, so keep visiting.

  1. Good afternoon. My name is Joey Hirschman, a friend of Barnaby’s but still hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting Willow. I enjoyed reading your story about your mummy in the swimming pool. I live in England with my mummy and two other friends called Kyle and Dominic ~ they take me for walks and often rub my tummy. We have had okish weather, although rather windy. I enjoy my walks tremendously and have met some new friends in the park down the road. We often gather to chat about our day and what we’ve up to. Yesterday I had to go to my dr to have my nails clipped. I don’t particularly like it there, but my dr is great. His name is Ben and when mummy tells me I am going to see Ben, I dont mind that much cause he gives me treats. At the moment I am getting ready for my afternoon nap with mummy, so I will keep you updated. Sending loads of love to you, Willow and your mummy. Lots of cuddles and sniffles ~ Joey ~ P.s I love our photo which you have on your page, that was US, hee hee

    1. Harfternoon Joey. It’s Willow here. Barnaby-the-Lazy is sleeping the harfterroon away due to the unbearable heat and humidity. I, on the other hand, spend my days productively seeking things to dig up. Rather like my ancestors, the Wombles of Wimbledon – I like to make good use of things (especially Barnaby’s ear!) Ever since we were both officially indogtrinated on to the Magic website, he has been insufferable. Full of himself really.
Whale, I’d better be getting on. Nice chatting to you Joey. I have never heard of a Dr?
      Willow xx

  2. Good morning Willow, Thank you for your message. I am doing ok. How is barnaby, ask him to send me a message too, that would be pawsome. I am feeling very old at the moment. My leggies are in pain and I cannot do much walking anymore. I turned 13 today _ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. Mummy has promised me a new beddie as mine is a little stinky. Its a bit cold here at the moment. and raining too, I dont like the rain. It must be difficult in the hot weather. have you managed to swim yet? That should be fun, you should try it with Barnaby. So, what does your general day hold? I love having my breakfast as soon as I get up. Then I go for my walk and have a treat when I come back. Being a sunday, its chill day. Mummy normally puts a cushion under the diningroom table for me while she does her art. Have a nice day and I will speak to you soon. JOEY
